Policy Statement
Safe Britain Security is fully committed to ensuring that all staff possess the relevant knowledge, skills, and expertise to perform their duties to consistently high standards and achieve their full potential. We recognize that the training and development of our staff are fundamental to improving our operational performance and achieving our strategic goals.
Safe Britain Security will integrate training and development into our operations and follow a continuous process of appraisal, training, and development.
Scope of this Policy
This policy applies to all staff of Safe Britain Security, regardless of their employment status, function, grade, or location. In line with the organization’s Equality and Diversity Policy, all staff are treated equally in the provision of training and development opportunities and are provided with equal access to training and development relevant to their needs.
Responsibilities
Managing Director:
– Integrate training and development into business planning.
– Assess and provide for the training and development needs of all staff.
– Identify and implement appropriate and cost-effective training and development solutions.
– Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of training and development programs.
– Monitor the overall effectiveness of this policy.
All Staff:
– Identify their own training and development needs and communicate these to their line manager.
– Participate in training and development activities to perform their duties efficiently and effectively.
– Manage their own learning and professional development.
Review and Monitoring
The Management Committee holds overall responsibility for the operation of this policy and will monitor it annually. Training and development needs, once identified, will be collated centrally and prioritized accordingly. All training and development activities must be pre-approved in writing by a line manager.
Budgetary Control
The Management Committee will determine the annual budget for training and development and formulate a strategy for the deployment of available resources.
Induction
All new staff will receive appropriate induction training, including the identification of relevant training and development needs.
Health and Safety Training
All staff will receive adequate health and safety training, including information on emergency procedures, before commencing work. The need for health and safety training will be reassessed regularly, particularly when operating procedures change. Retraining or refresher training will be provided as necessary.
Evaluating Training and Development
All training and development activities will be evaluated. The Management Committee will be responsible for evaluating these activities against the business strategy and goals on an annual basis.
